Please join us in Vail, Colorado and be part of the 30th season of the Vail Dance Festival (VDF). We highly value your interest and encourage you to become part of our VIDF family as a volunteer.

The Festival is a two-week celebration of exceptional artistry taking place in the heart of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. As a volunteer you will have first-hand contact with some of the greatest and most prominent dancers and performers from around the world. Our volunteers have a direct impact on the continued success and growth of this event.

Below is a list of current volunteer opportunities. Once you’re ready to get involved, feel free to fill out the Volunteer Application. We appreciate your support!


Transportation volunteers will assist with picking-up and returning the Festival Artists and Staff between Denver International Airport and Vail, CO. Transportation volunteers will also facilitate the movement of our personnel around the Vail Valley for the duration of the Festival. Hours for this position will vary between the hours of 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m.


Usher volunteers will work on-site at the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater. They will assist with guest relations, seating patrons, and sharing pertinent performance related information with our patrons. There are 8 performances that we will need to staff with volunteers, all shifts will start half an hour before the gates to the Amphitheater are open to the public.


Wardrobe volunteers will assist behind the scenes, working with the wardrobe staff to insure that all of the costumes are ready for each performance. Wardrobe volunteers will work at both the Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater and the Vilar Performing Arts Center, the hours for wardrobe volunteers will vary from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily.

*A minimum of commitment of 12 hours will be required through the entire Festival.

*Wardrobe and Transportation volunteers will receive free lawn admission to all Gerald R. Ford Amphitheater performances, with the opportunity to up-grade to reserved seating based on nightly availability.
