Martha Graham Dance Company

Martha Graham Dance Company

GERALD R. FORD AMPHITHEATER

The legendary Martha Graham Dance Company takes the Vail stage for a spotlight performance—its only Colorado appearance on a centennial world tour celebrating 100 years as one of modern dance’s most influential and enduring artistic forces. The program honors the groundbreaking legacy of founder Martha Graham, alongside contemporary works by artists inspired by her vision, carrying forward a powerful tradition of innovation, emotional intensity, and artistic courage that defines the Graham spirit. The evening will feature hallowed works by Graham, including Diversions of Angels, Steps in the Street from Chronicle, and Lamentation, which will be danced for the first time at this performance by special guest NYC Ballet star Sara Mearns. The program will close with Jamar Roberts’ recent acclaimed work made for the company, We the People, and in celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Martha Graham Dance Company, the evening will also feature the premiere of a special 92NY Dance Education Laboratory (DEL) Movement Sentence Choir (MSC) in tribute to Martha Graham and her legacy.

Casting and repertory are subject to change.
