State of Grace

featuring Balanchine's Serenade

State of Grace

GERALD R. FORD AMPHITHEATER

A luminous evening under the stars, this performance celebrates the beauty, power, and harmony of dance with extraordinary artists from American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Colorado Ballet, and other leading companies from around the world.

Highlights of this special performance will include: the world premiere of a new pas de deux choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon for Lauren Lovette and Robbie Fairchild; Mira Nadon and Ryan Tomash making their debuts in Jerome Robbins’ Afternoon of a Faun; Catherine Hurlin making her debut in Balanchine’s Serenade in the role of the “Russian” girl; and performances by additional artists including Adji Cissoko, Herman Cornejo, Calvin Royal III, Unity Phelan, Melissa Toogood, and more to be announced.

The performance culminates in George Balanchine’s breathtaking Serenade, set to Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings and performed live by the National Repertory Orchestra under the baton of Michael Stern. Bringing together Festival stars and Colorado Ballet artists, this iconic work offers a transcendent finale beneath the Colorado night sky.

This evening’s performance is generously underwritten by Tina & David Wilson and The Carol F. Storr Endowment for Classical Ballet.

Casting and repertory are subject to change.
